Mission

Liikkukaa! org´s main objective is to use sports and culture for moving towards social inclusion, intercultural respect and equal sports opportunities in the Finnish society through sports and culture.

Strategy


To act as leading organization in the tolerance field, form network with the central players and maintain connection with grass root through members.

Purpose of Sports

Sport as a social interaction supporter and activator is indisputable. Research and practice over 100 years support this. Besides good health and mental vigor, it’s easy to make social contacts through sports and thus both maintain and extend social network.

Activities 

Respect - sports without prejudice campaign

The goal is to promote the message of sports without prejudice

- Respect-poster: national visibility

- Respect-football team: participates in tournaments for the young

- Respect-campaign: official partner of Helsinki Cup

- Respect-spirit: arranges friendship matches

J.O.B.S  “Job Opportunities Built on Sports”

The goal is have sport clubs employ immigrants (for administration, coaching etc.) Work for the employee and human resources for the club’s activities and development.

B.O.S.S.I  “Benefiting of Sports for Social Inclusion”

BOSSI’s aim is to both promote understanding for multicultural challenges and possibilities and raise  awareness by using sports as a way to integrate immigrants.

BOSSI can be adapted to each target group (e.g. migrants, natives) and duration of seminars, educational- and other expertise occasions.

GFA "Global Family Award"

Every year Liikkukaa awards persons or community for outstanding multicultural and tolerance work.

Previously the Global Family Award was presented to e.g. professor Henrikki Tikkanen, docent Antti Ainamo, football motivator Simo Syrjävaara, coach Jarmo Siponen, FC Honka’s fan club “Hongankolistajat”  and the Bank of Finland's director Erkki Liikanen.

Round Table - discussions

The goal of the discussions is to activate the different players and interest groups of the tolerance field to openly discus the challenges and possibilities of the tolerance field. The experience from previous years has proven to be positive and productive.

MAPS - "Monitoring attitudes and progress of social inclusion in Sports"

Development activities

administrational tasks in different governmental, sports and culture organizations, committees and work groups

beginning, supporting and participating in projects connected to sports and culture

Member services

inform members on current matters concerning their activities

assisting with drawing up applications to officials (city/county, sport organizations)

assisting clubs in administrative matters (finance, meeting protocol, employer obligations, law and reporting to officials)
