Grass roots fund

The aim of the Grass roots fund is to secure and improve the preconditions of organizations with migrant background with the funding granted by Liikkukaa’s partners from private sector. The goal is to secure and improve Liikkukaa`s member organizations activity possibilities and offer sport opportunities to migrants. Liikkukaa`s private sector partners have made it possible to support grass root activities according to Liikkukaa`s criteria. Liikkukaa will send more information and a questioner to all its members.

Organizations that provide sports for migrants are financially tight and securing their yearly activities often requires a very small financial contribution, even as little as a few hundred euros per year.
Because these organizations are based purely on voluntary work even a small contribution significantly affects the motivation of the members.

Activity plan

The contributions require that the activities promote and activate the integration of migrants and decrease prejudice. The support can be for developing the organization or launching a new
activity or project. The aid is granted to migrant organizations dynamic activities that support the mentioned goals.

Main results

Migrant based organizations and their activities will receive more vitality and their possibilities to develop actions increase. The process of integrating migrants will become more efficient and the
interaction between natives and migrants easier. The support will guide and encourage organizations and their voluntaries to integrate, educate themselves and activate networking outside sports.
