Liikkukaa will implement a new Maailman Kieli –project with
its multicultural member clubs. The project will include learning Finnish
language and important knowledge of democratic participation through football.
The participants are young, physically active adults.
Majority of them currently use English as their primary means for communication
on the football pitch. The aim of the project is to help them develop their
communication skills in Finnish and also to enhance their understanding on how
the Finnish society works. Practical examples are found through looking at how
sports clubs are managed in the Finnish Football Association’s framework. Learning the essential procedures will empower
the participants to take part in the Finnish society more fully.
The project will be implemented in Tampere by football club
Vierasjoukkue and in Helsinki by HDS Mondial.
The project is funded by European Union’s Youth in Action –programme,
which is coordinated by CIMO, Centre for International Mobility.
